What is Ponderosa? - For forty one years the Ponderosa Invitational has been the championship swim meet of the Northwest Aquatic League. Qualifying for the PI is an accomplishment that all swimmers over the years have been proud of and this year’s swimmers should be just as proud. The Ponderosa Invitational uses a Championship Meet format with events on Saturday and Sunday. Preliminary heats in the morning and finals each night. All relays are swum as finals. Seeding is done using the pyramid format. Qualifiers must have swam the qualifying time during an official 2011 NWAL meet. Who can go? - Any Swimmer who has met the 2011 qualification times. Swim Meet - The meet starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. Saturday the 2nd of July, and 9:00 a.m. Sunday the 3rd of July. Finals begin at 5:30 p.m. on each day. However, please check with the announcers’ table for any changes. Remember to be on time! If you are late checking in at the ready bench, you risk being scratched from the event. Warm-ups - Warm-up lanes will be available before the start of each session. Dive-only lanes will be assigned as needed. The pool will be closed 30 minutes prior to the start of the preliminary heats and 15 minutes prior to the start of finals. Sat./Sun. Prelims - 7:30am Finals - 4:30am What is the price to attend? - The cost is $4.50 per Individual Event you sign up for. No additional cost for relays. Make checks payable to ESST and turn in with your order form. Where will it be held? - Ponderosa will be held where it was held last year at the Klein Collins High School Natatorium. When are the forms due? - We WILL be taking qualifying times from this Saturdays Divisionals meet, June 25th. Please turn in your form to the coaches by the end of the meet.
